Welcome to the Capital City Alphas
PRESIDENT'S WELCOME AND GREETINGS

Bro. K. Allen Campbell
Chapter President
Greetings Brothers and Friends of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,

It is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you to the Alpha Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., affectionately known as "The Seed of South Carolina." Our chapter stands as a beacon of excellence and commitment, thanks to the vision and determination of Brother Abram L. Simpson, a former President of Allen University and composer of our fraternity’s revered national hymn.

In recognizing the necessity of an Alpha presence within our community, Brother Simpson united the Alpha Brothers in this area, ultimately leading to the chartering of Alpha Psi Lambda on May 7, 1935. Proudly, Alpha Psi Lambda is the FIRST Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha established in South Carolina.

For more than 80 years, our chapter has been a pillar of service and impact in the historic Waverly Community and the greater Carolinas. From hosting youth forums and offering mentorships to providing scholarships and addressing community needs, Alpha Psi Lambda has remained steadfast in its commitment to "Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind."

The Alpha Psi Lambda Chapter has been named South Carolina Chapter of the Year five times and has earned the Charles H. Wesley Award with College Chapters "Gamma Gamma and Gamma Pi" on eight occasions. Additionally, the chapter has been home to five South Carolina District Directors, three Deputy District Directors, three Area Directors, two Chief Deans, and a National Brother of the Year (Bro. Dr. Anthony Broughton). These accomplishments, along with countless other awards and recognitions, are a testament to the chapter’s enduring legacy of leadership and excellence.

To our Alpha brothers seeking a home, you can find one here with the Alpha Psi Lambda Chapter. We welcome you to join us in our mission to serve and lead.

As we move forward, I invite you to join us in embracing this year’s theme: C.L.I.M.B. Together, we will strive for greatness as we focus on these core principles:

-
C - Commitment: Dedicate yourself to structure and excellence. Stay in your lane, fulfill your responsibilities, and help others without overstepping. Collective success begins with individual accountability.
-
L - Little Things: Focus on the fundamentals and never lose sight of the small actions that lead to significant achievements. Little successes pave the way for big victories.
-
I - Intensity: Approach everything with fervor and determination. Life is a marathon; conserve your energy, remain disciplined, and persevere through every challenge.
-
M - Mental Toughness: Your response to life’s highs and lows defines your strength. Draw from your experiences, focus on your purpose, and press forward with resilience.
-
B - Brotherhood: Trust, support, and love one another. Respect our collective mission, and let our unity shine through. The community will see and feel the power of our Brotherhood.

Brothers, the legacy of Alpha Psi Lambda is one of unparalleled greatness and unwavering dedication. Together, let us honor that legacy by continuing to serve, uplift, and lead with purpose.

Yours For the Better Making of Men,
Brother K. Allen Campbell

“If you can walk with the crowd and keep your virtue, or walk with Kings-nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run- Yours is the earth and everything that's in it, And-which is more-you'll be a man my son.”
― Rudyard Kipling
